I need help with planning my destination wedding, ...

I am getting married in Key West, FL. This is a destination wedding, I live in NY. I flying to Key West in a week to do all the planning, the wedding is a year from now. I am super nervous! I have meetings to look at 2 venues (one which I am leaning more towards) walking the grounds, going over packages, etc. Also to meet with the caterer, florist and the cake maker. I feel like I am leaving something out though. Can anyone offer me some helpful advice on things to follow up on when I go down there to see first hand which I wont be able to do from a distance once I return. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

If this is your first initial meeting, you may also want to check out local bands/djs and find out if they are playing live during the week you are there. Meet with a photographer (you can see pictures via websites, but you should really know their personality and if it fits with yours). Who will be marrying you? If you can meet with that person as well, it is good to build a relationship, if you can – it will personalize your ceremony more. Have fun!

Rochester, NY wedding help!?

We’re planning our wedding for August in Pittsford NY (15 mins outside of Rochester). We’ve pretty much planned out everything and have a photographer, florist, cake, rings, etc.
Except for one really important thing…we don’t have a wedding officiant.
It’s getting closer every day and everyone I’ve contacted is already booked. I’m not from this area so I don’t know of any local priests or ministers and have only been able to contact officiants that have websites…does anyone know any good local ministers?
If so, please provide the church they are officiated with or their full names and phone numbers (if known). Thank you so much!!
We’re getting married at the Burgundy Basin (it’s in pittsford) and we’d rather have a non-denominational officiant as neither of us believe very strongly in congregations. A justice of the peace would be find but I thought they don’t officiate outside the courthouse?

I currently live in Rochester NY. I will do some searching for you. Is there a particular faith you are interested in? Would a Justice of the Peace be okay? Where exactly are you getting married?

Never tried this site but maybe its worth a go: http://www.localofficiants.com/new_york/wedding_officiants/rochester_ny.php

Edit III:
My understanding of JOPs, at least in NY, is that they will officiate in private ceremonies. I know this varies in other states, but I believe it to be true of NY. Here is the link for the city of Rochester government page http://www.cityofrochester.gov/article.aspx?id=8589937213 at the top of the page is the contact information for city hall. I would give them a call and see if they can get you in contact with the proper person.

Edit IV:
One last crazy thought, have you thought to contact the Burgundy Basin and ask them if they know of anyone? They do a ton of weddings, so I am sure there must be a few officiants they can direct you to.

Vendors in Suffolk County,NY….?

I’m getting married in Oct 07 and i was wondering if any one can reccomend any photographers, florists, videographers, limo companies or any other vendors that they have used in Suffolk County NY. We already have the hall (the venetian yacht club) and the church.Thank you!
i meant to say videographers and limo companys i dont know why it was cut off.

Not sure about local vendors fo ou, but I know www.customweddingsolutions.com is a great place for acessories, decorations, tiaras and stuff. I used them and would recommend them to anyone looking for nice affordable items for their wedding

I’m getting married and I was wondering does...

Or in Lake George or Glens Falls NY. I’m also looking for an affordable Limo service, Florist and Photographer.Any help would be great.

Check out Lloyd Church. If we plan to have a local wedding we will go with him. His rates are VERY affordable and he does a good job. He DJ’ed my friends wedding last year. For 3 hours its $350, 4 is $450 and 5 is $550 I believe (if the prices are different, it wont be by much). He also has a karaoke set up that you can use for free. Good luck fellow Saratoga bride!
