Any centerpiece ideas?

I go to the florist next week to order all of the flowers for the wedding and reception. Im so new to this and have no clue of what the average price it for bouquets and centerpieces. I was thinking of roses and callalillies for my bouquet, and maybe just roses for my BM’s. What can be used for centerpieces that wont be too pricey? What flowers/colors will go well with my wedding colors Pool & Canary? I want modern, yet elegant. Something that would wow the crowd and look as if I spent a ton….but really didn’t…lol
If it helps, im in NY

Thanks in advance!

Flowers are very costly for centerpieces! Don’t waste your money on something that will die!!
What about using mirrors in the center of the table with a vase and candle inside? you could sprinkle flower petals around the vase, just depending on what looks best. It will look classy, pretty, and won’t cost you a ton.

What I would do is set a budget of about how much money you are willing to spend on flowers… be honest with the florist and tell her what you want and what you are able or willing to spend.. in most cases they will work with you and find something that is within that budget or at least close to it. Theknot.com has some great pictures of wedding style and centerpieces. make sure to take something that is similar to what you would want.. I hope that this helps.

The florist will actually be the biggest help on this and it will vary by region. Our florist had tons of books and helped us find things that fit our ideas and then altered them to fit our exact taste. We spent $75 per floral arrangement for 14 low centerpieces of mixed flowers in silver bowls: roses, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, alestromera, lilies and myrtle. Ask your florist to show you some things and then show you flowers that will compliment your colors (we are using Baja blue and mango). You can spend as much or as little as you’d like, depending on what you want. We are having only flowers, no candles or crystals or novelties like that so I wanted a real "WOW!" factor with my centerpieces. Oh, I’m in NJ so the pricing may be relative.

    Good luck!

centre pieces can be expensive depending on how lavish you want them to be and which flowers you want / whether those flowers are in season… I would stick to roses in your bridal bouquet if you budget is short as roses tend to be pricey… It depends how many tables you are having at your reception just bare in mind to keep the centre pieces small so that people can see over them and they are not taking up to much room… I would suggest small centre pieces which include flowers or candles (though this should be checked with the reception venue as not all places appreciate you lighting candles) or rose petals scattered over the table along perhaps with some confetti or some little pretty stones like pinks and crystals that you can buy really cheap from places like craft shops… Depending how artistic you are you can even put your own centre pieces together and give them to someone to put on the tables before for you before you and the wedding party arrive (often the reception venue will do this) just be creative and think about the theme and colours of your wedding :-) we own a florist and everyone chooses different things so just do whats best for you and congratulations

My wedding was a few weeks ago and my guests really loved my centerpieces. Instead of flowers we had three vases on each table two were filled with candy and one had a candle with petals surrounding it. We put an organza bag with a little poem explaining that there was different candy at each table and to go mingle and choose what ever candies they like as their favors with a key on the opposite side of the poem that told you what candy was where. We used purple and yellow candy as those were our wedding colors. It was great people got up and talked to everyone and a ton of people told me they loved the idea. Plus it saved us a lot since we didn’t have to pay for centerpieces and for favors it was two in one!

If you like the idea and want to poem let me know my email is Amie87@aol.com

the cheapest way to do these, is to do them on your own, it’s really cheaper my florist wanted $85 a piece for flowered trees, I picked up a fake tree, vase, and crystals at Michaels and did them for $22 a piece myself.

Roses and Calla Lilies are expensive. Use flowers with larger blooms for center pieces. Try using mirrors with candles on them. You could use larger square vases an fill them with water and put lemon slices in them. I have seen that done and it looks really nice. Congrats and best of luck!
