We’re planning our wedding for August in Pittsford NY (15 mins outside of Rochester). We’ve pretty much planned out everything and have a photographer, florist, cake, rings, etc.
Except for one really important thing…we don’t have a wedding officiant.
It’s getting closer every day and everyone I’ve contacted is already booked. I’m not from this area so I don’t know of any local priests or ministers and have only been able to contact officiants that have websites…does anyone know any good local ministers?
If so, please provide the church they are officiated with or their full names and phone numbers (if known). Thank you so much!!
We’re getting married at the Burgundy Basin (it’s in pittsford) and we’d rather have a non-denominational officiant as neither of us believe very strongly in congregations. A justice of the peace would be find but I thought they don’t officiate outside the courthouse?
I currently live in Rochester NY. I will do some searching for you. Is there a particular faith you are interested in? Would a Justice of the Peace be okay? Where exactly are you getting married?

Never tried this site but maybe its worth a go: http://www.localofficiants.com/new_york/wedding_officiants/rochester_ny.php
Edit III:
My understanding of JOPs, at least in NY, is that they will officiate in private ceremonies. I know this varies in other states, but I believe it to be true of NY. Here is the link for the city of Rochester government page http://www.cityofrochester.gov/article.aspx?id=8589937213 at the top of the page is the contact information for city hall. I would give them a call and see if they can get you in contact with the proper person.
Edit IV:
One last crazy thought, have you thought to contact the Burgundy Basin and ask them if they know of anyone? They do a ton of weddings, so I am sure there must be a few officiants they can direct you to.
Check out your local phone book "clergy". Also, if you know someone who is willing to get ordained to marry you that can be done online.
